The Two Wolves

One afternoon, a wise old man was speaking to his grandson about a battle that goes on inside all people.

He said, "My son, the battle is between two 'wolves' that we all have within us.

One is evil. It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, superiority, lies, conceit, and ego.

The other is good. It is joy, peace, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith."

The grandson thought for a minute and then asked his grandfather,

"Which wolf wins?"

The reply of the old Cherokee was a simple reply,

"The one you feed."
